Hi friends, hope we’re all keeping well.
I think this has been a hotly debated topic among many students and teachers-the grand old question of whether or not you should listen to music while studying.
So, I think I’d like to give my own 2 cents on the matter, and share my own thoughts on the subject. Don’t worry, it shouldn’t take long.
👨🏻⚖️General Verdict👨🏻⚖️
Overall, I only listen to non-lyrical music or piano music while studying. Most of the non-lyrical music comes from video game OSTs, like Undertale, and they always help put me into the mood for studying (by getting me hyped).
Similarly, the piano music I listen to are actually mostly covers of Jpop songs (Japanese pop), which are really effective at getting me pumped up for anything.
In general, I think listening to music while studying is okay as long as you’re not getting constantly distracted by the music, or if it helps get you motivated for studying.
I pretty much never listen to any songs that have lyrics in them, no matter what genre, as I find myself getting too distracted by them🙃
So honestly, I would strongly recommend students to try listening to non-lyrical music ONLY, if they find their current approach isn’t working.
Grand, that’ll do it for this post. I haven’t been posting any study-related content recently since I haven’t entered college yet, but I can assure you they’ll probably be making their return soon🙃
Anyway, stage safe, and I’ll see you in another post 👋🏼
a strong no music for me, but if I did, it would defintely be non-lyrical…
