Childhood Games (Burnout Blogs)

Some of my Skylanders😎😎😎

Hey friends, hope we’re all keeping well.

I’ve recently been really hooked and interested in games from my childhood (not the Squid Game type of games), which has led me down a pretty big rabbit hole…again. 🤦🏻‍♂️

I’ve actually gone down this ‘childhood reminiscence’ phase before during lockdown, when I had virtually nothing to do and checked out the status of my childhood hobbies out of sheer boredom.

The games I’m talking about are Pokémon, Yugioh, and Skylanders.

The world of Pokémon really has gotten so exciting, with a new open world game being released really soon and new projects constantly getting worked on. I’ve even dabbled in my Pokémon Go account again!

Skylanders is a bit more bittersweet. No new games have been announced since 2016, yet amazingly the community is still going strong. Dozens of Skylanders YouTube channels have sprung up, making some really creative content. I still have an entire drawer of figures from when I used to play with my brothers, and I’m even thinking about buying one of the newer Skylanders games to relive some of the nostalgia…

The Yugioh rabbit hole has been the most intense one by far though. I’ve been completely consumed and fascinated by the newly released cards, and am even keeping up with the recent meta game. I’ve even gone out of my way to try complete my old deck, so that I’m now always prepared for a duel, if I ever get randomly challenged one day 😎

Jokes aside, all these games hold a really special place in my heart, and I’m glad to revisit these memories from my childhood. I’m fully aware this enthusiasm will fade away quite soon again, so I’ll relish these rekindled interests for as long as I can.

Generally, I think it’s quite nice to revisit some old memories from your childhood. Helps relive a lot of stress, and brings you back to the good times 🥲

Anyway, this was a short, random, and extremely low-quality blog post to help combat my current blogging burnout. Thanks for reading, I’ll hopefully see you again soon👋🏼
